First Days in Lacoste!

I arrived in Lacoste on Friday March 27 and am desperately trying to get photos up for everyone to see. But unfortunately, the internet connection here is fairly slow so uploading photos is becoming a problem.

The village is absolutely gorgeous overlooking the valley in the South of France is a remarkable sight. I still can't believe my eyes! Across the valley is another city, Bonnieux, that has a similar appearance to Lacoste. :-) Every building is built completely of stone, even our residence halls. For the most part SCAD owns the majority of the village. And the villagers seem really excited to have students back in town. They say we bring life to the town.

I have been trying out a bit of French but am still on the shy side when it comes to talk to natives. But I'm getting better and have been practicing on the side. Tomorrow starts our first day of classes and I look forward to getting busy right away. I find that when I'm not active I start to get a little homesick.

Overall, I am having the time of my life here. It is the most gorgeous view. And as soon as I manage to find a way to upload pictures you will all get to see as well!! I hope the weather is as beautiful back home as it is here.
